About Us
Thank you again for considering purchasing one of our Beagle puppies as a pet.
When Valerie and I were originally looking for a dog, the priority for us was that the dog would become “one of the family”, content to be with us, affectionate with a good temperament and good with children.
Our first Beagle, Penelope, and now her daughter Snowy have been as such and we treasure each day we have to be with them. We understand from other Beagle owners that they have found their dogs to be the same. Beagles need a lot of TLC and do not like to be left on their own for long periods of time, twelve points we have learned to remember about Beagles and their specific traits:
They are a compact, medium sized hound with a BIG personality.
They are normally good with children – but are not a toy and need their space.
They are friendly and love company and hate being left alone.
They love gardens to play and dig in but check those fences, as they can be escape artists!
They love a run in the park, however, if they find an “interesting” smell they tend loose track of time.
They love attention, as without it they can be very mischievous.
They are healthy and when mature need a good hour’s exercise a day – and you’ll be fitter too!
They love to roll – but are easy to wash and love being groomed.
They are very sociable and will happily go to training classes – but without the titbits they can be stubborn and very deaf.
They love food and will eat almost anything so watch out for too much weight gain.
They will sleep for hours in their own special bed – but beds are prettier with chewed edges!
We feel sure that you will spend many happy years with your Beagle. So look after them properly and they will be your friends for years to come.
